02 May Are you the new Director Solliance?
Contribute to a sustainable society with the latest solar technology.
Envision it. Become a director at Solliance.
The energy transition is more urgent than it has ever been – for the climate, but also to reduce our dependence on gas and oil supplies. On top of this, generating energy locally offers tremendous economic opportunities to the business community contributing to its generation. Research cooperative Solliance sees many opportunities for solar energy with new types of solar cells and circular applications on all imaginable surfaces – on buildings, but also in and alongside roads, on cars, in combination with agriculture and horticulture, and on water. As a director, you’ll bring together knowledge institutions, public authorities, and the business community to mutually strengthen each other and optimally take advantage of these opportunities. In this way, you’ll contribute to the development and application of the latest solar technology.
What will be your role?
As a leading player in solar energy research, Solliance’s focus until now has been on thin-film technology. You’ll take the lead in broadening our scope to include all solar PV technologies for integration into our living environment. To this end, you’ll further expand our network of commercial and scientific partners. Within the framework of this new scope, you’ll develop our joint strategy with our partners, including our marketing and communication approach. You’ll also identify research opportunities and options for public and private funding, which you’ll subsequently link to the right group of partners. And you’ll share our successes with users and experts.
As the public face of Solliance, you’ll represent us in international platforms and organisations and at symposia. In doing so, you’ll position Solliance as the foremost partner for solar energy technology. Moreover, you’ll be the point of contact for regional and European partnerships, private companies, and public authorities. Supported by a team of enthusiastic people from our partners, you’ll give direction to our research agenda. You’ll also monitor the agreed-upon level of partners’ contributions and prepare the content of the periodic meetings with them.
Where you work from is up to you. You can choose from different locations, such as the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Diepenbeek Campus in Hasselt, the TU/e Campus in Eindhoven, the Energy & Health Campus in Petten, or one of our other partner universities. Wherever you go, the people you’ll work with will share your ambition of translating scientific solar energy research into high-tech manufacturing methods and applications.
What we expect from you
You know how to use your vision to inspire and convince (potential) partners of the power of collaboration. Using connective communication, you’ll get stakeholders in the private and public sector on board with our joint strategy and research agenda, even when the interests of different parties conflict with each other. Building and maintaining networks is in your DNA. To do so, you like to travel (at home and abroad), and you have an excellent command of English. Some knowledge of German and French will be beneficial in European contexts.
Other knowledge and skills you bring:
- A university degree, preferably in an exact science such as chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline.
- Experience managing projects or programmes, preferably also in an international context.
- Experience in the energy sector, preferably working with solar energy.
What you’ll get in return
Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at Solliance, you’re in charge of shaping your career. Your gross annual salary will be between €86,000 and €108,850 (depending on your level of knowledge and experience). In addition, you’ll be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
On top of this, Solliance allows you to compose a ‘menu’ of employment conditions that align with your personal situation. What you can expect:
- A good pension scheme.
- Travel allowance or a bicycle.
- An extremely professional, innovative working environment in which your colleagues are leading experts in their field.
Twenty-eight days annual leave and five compensation days under the ‘reduction in working hours’ scheme (ATV, arbeidstijdverkorting) on a full-time basis.
- Flexible working hours and good facilities to work from home.
- The opportunity to attend courses, workshops, and conferences, and, if needed, to receive training and coaching.
- An employer that values and encourages diverse talent.
